Welcome to my fitness site. I created this to help me stay accountable. I’m tired of being a hypocrite. Telling others how to be fit and healthy but not following my own advice. So, now I’m putting it down in black and white. I hope you can use this information to get fit with me.
I’m a 30-something mother of 2 in beautiful Alaska. I was certified and hired a few years ago to teach water fitness classes. I did Turbo Jam then which helped me gain a lot of endurance, lose a bit of size, and generally get more healthy. However, I had to quit in order to spend more time with my mom out of state before she died.
I am now about 55 pounds overweight, so I’m doing Turbo Fire to burn off this stubborn fat and to get into the best shape of my life. I am also about halfway to a degree as Health Fitness Specialist. I hope to help others spark a desire and give them knowledge to get fit as well.
Two things really fired me up to get serious about starting (and hopefully completing) Turbo Fire.
First and most importantly, my brother was recently diagnosed type 2 diabetes because of poor diet and lack of exercise. That was a real wake up call for me. I don’t want to be like that in 5 years, but would if I didn’t seriously change my lifestyle.
Second, they started giving Aqua Zumba classes at my gym. The woman who teaches it is smaller in size than me, but her flab really shakes if you know what I mean. One of the ladies said she won’t take classes from her again because she can’t be motivated by someone with more shake to her than she has. LOL.
So now I have a mission to lose those stubborn pounds and get in the best fitness of my life. I need to return to my roots of exercise and healthy eating.

Your story sounds similar to my own. I started with Turbo Jam and became very committed when I learned more about Diabetes and the risks of Obesity… Just wanted to share a thought – If you are as passionate about helping people, committed to fitness and about beachbody programs as you seem I would encourage you to consider beachbody coaching. (Especially if you start seeing results with TurboFire and people start asking you what you are doing…) Just one more way to help squash out Obesity & Type II Diabetes! Just keep it in mind.
You’re the latest of many who have encouraged me to become a BB coach. (the second just this week). Someday maybe. It would be a good idea if I actually completed one of the more intense programs first. So far the only one I’ve done is Slim in 6. Not sure I’d be good enough selling to cover the setup and monthly dues/fees.
It figures – BB enthusiasts are just that- enthusiastic! You ‘fit the bill’ so to speak so it only makes sense that people are asking you! I don’t think you’d need to complete any of the intense programs necessarily. It does help if you have a ‘good story’ to tell other people to get them inspired – but, just believing in the products & genuinely wanting to help people reach their goals is all you really need. I understand your concerns about the fees – I’m still figuring it out myself. I’ll be blogging about it. I made 1 sale so far (didn’t even have to try!!) and my commission was $90 so I’m covered for a few months of fees. I signed up w/ a Challenge Pack (I was going to get Turbo Fire anyway & wanted to try Shakeology to see what all the fuss was about.) – the sign-on fees were waived w/ the pack. So, I’ve covered my costs through June, I think. I knew it would be slow in the beginning so I’m just focusing on covering costs until things pick up (i.e. Beachbody starts giving me customers/ clients/ coaches..) Rambling… sorry. Let me know if you have questions
